


Grade 2 Problem Solving Challenge. Maths Quest is an innovative learning program, designed for high achieving students, that introduces problem solving concepts. Students in Grade 2 are invited to participate in this weekly activity during Term 2 & 3 each year.

We have partnered with Children’s University Swinburne, to extend and develop self-motivated, engaged learners at our school. Children’s University Swinburne encourages children to aspire to new heights, try out new activities, discover new passions, visit new places and above all, have fun whilst learning.
Mullum Primary School offers high ability students in Grade 5 and 6 opportunities to participate in VHAP, part of the government funded Student Excellence Program. Students participate in 10-week online extension and enrichment programs in English and Mathematics.

Mullum Primary School offers families and students the opportunity to be involved in the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) Assessments. ICAS is designed to recognise academic excellence by assessing students on their ability to apply classroom learning to new contexts using higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills.
Students in Grade 4-6 are able to participate in the Victorian State School Spectacular Mass Choir. Our students join thousands of primary and secondary students on stage at John Cain Arena in September every year.
Our whole school are invited to join in the Premiers’ Reading Challenge every year. With friendly classroom competitions and the support of our well stocked library, students are encouraged to read, read, read!

Students in Grade 3-6 are invited to learn a brass or woodwind instrument at school. These lessons are provided before school, with students performing at local and school events.
